Jokowi's Open Statement May Be Called Observer Makes The 2024 Presidential Election Unbalanced
Political observer, Ikrar Nusa Bhakti, assessed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s statement openly in public if heads of state and ministers are allowed to politics and even campaigns to make the 2024 presidential election no longer a draw.
In fact, previously the former Governor of DKI Jakarta had said that he would be neutral.
"The current election is out of balance because one of the candidate pairs uses power and the other two candidate pairs do not," Ikrar told reporters quoted on Thursday, January 25.
Ikrar even said that President Jokowi was openly no longer ashamed to show himself building a political dynasty.
"Gibran (so, red) is vice presidential and you can also see the youngest child taking over the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in a short time," he said.
"Today's period was accepted to be a member of the party, two days later he became chairman and could see how Jokowi appeared as PSI's main actor in television commercials," continued Ikrar.
Furthermore, Ikrar assessed that the current political conditions seemed to indicate a fight between the political elite of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition and the civil society. Thus, efforts to endanger democracy must be thwarted.
"Because once this dynasty building was created, the political consequences of democracy are very heavy," he said.
Previously reported, Jokowi said that the president and political officials, including public officials, could take sides and even campaign. As long as no state facilities are used.
