Police Arrest 2 Pertalite Fuel Smuggling Perpetrators To Morowali-Sulteng, Dozens Of Jerry Cans Confiscated

The Sub-Directorate I Indagsi Team of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dit Reskrimsus) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) arrested two perpetrators of smuggling pertalite type fuel oil (BBM) to Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng).

Head of Sub-Directorate I Indagsi Dit Reskrimsus Polda Sultra Kompol Rico Fernanda said the two perpetrators each had the initials RA (52) male and female with the initials RO (44).

"Both are residents of Baito District, South Konawe Regency," said Rico Fernanda as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

The arrests of the two perpetrators were carried out on Pohara Axis Street, Pohara Village, Sampara District, Konawe Regency, on Saturday (20/1) at around 01.40 WITA.

"After we arrested them, we carried out further investigations and both of them are now named suspects," he said.

The arrests were made based on public information related to the alleged criminal act of misuse of fuel and subsidized LPG gas which was later developed by personnel from Sub-Directorate I Indagsi of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi Police.

"Based on that, the team then found a Toyota Rush minibus with police number DT 1743 LF, then officers stopped the car and found 35 jerry cans measuring 35 liters containing pertalite type fuel," said Rizo Fernanda.

The results of the interrogation of the perpetrators, continued Rico Fernanda, dozens of jerry cans containing Pertalite type fuel will be brought and sold in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi. Currently, the two perpetrators and evidence have been secured at the Southeast Sulawesi Police Headquarters.

"The evidence that was secured was in the form of a Toyota Rush and 35 jerry cans measuring 35 liters containing pertalite type fuel," he explained.
