The Ministry Of PUPR Calls Funds For Relocation Villages For Relocation Of Rempang Residents Not Yet Existing
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) plans to build the Tanjung Benon village which is the destination for the relocation of residents of Pulau Rempang. However, until now, the construction of the village has not yet started.
This is in line with the process of relocating or relocating residents affected by the National Strategic Project (PSN) Rempang Eco-City. The preparation of the village construction will be carried out by the Ministry of PUPR, while BP Batam will prepare the construction of residents' housing.
Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti said that there was no funding for the construction of the village. So, his party still has to wait for the funds to be disbursed to start the execution.
"Yes, we are waiting for the funding. Right, until now there has not been any," Diana said in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24.
Diana said that PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono himself had conveyed the funding needs to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Then, Jokowi has also ordered the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani to immediately process the funding.
"Frankly, the minister yesterday asked the president, the president has ordered the minister. Well, I will discuss this (more) today," he said.
He added that from there Minister Basuki would again check whether the funding had been disbursed. Only after that, his party only has to sign a contract with the contractor to cultivate it and the execution can be carried out.
Thus, Diana is optimistic that the process can begin in the early quarter of 2024.
