Cibadak Sukabumi Landslide, PMI Tightens Ambulance And Personnel Help Affected Residents

SUKABUMI - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) deployed its personnel to provide assistance to landslide victims in Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Wednesday, January 24.

PMI personnel who have been deployed to the disaster site are still conducting a search to help survivors evacuate valuables buried by landslides.

"Our first wave team deployed five personnel to help evacuate items belonging to survivors buried by landslides in Cibatu Hilir Village RT 001/011, Sekarwangi Village," said Head of PMI Sukabumi Regency, Hondo Suwito, in Sukabumi, Wednesday, January 24, confiscated by Antara.

In this activity, PMI joined other joint officers under the control of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency.

Hondo reminded volunteers at the location to always be vigilant and careful when evacuating, because it was still raining and several times there were small landslides that could cause unwanted things.

"The terrain is quite heavy plus the rain is still falling and there have been several subsequent landslides, we urge volunteers in addition to focusing on providing assistance and being vigilant so that unwanted things do not occur," he said.

In addition to personnel, PMI also mobilizes ambulances that can be used at any time, such as evacuating victims to the nearest hospital or clinic or residents who need medical assistance.

In addition, the personnel deployed to join the landslide operation will be added. A number of personnel have also been alerted at the PMI Headquarters of Sukabumi Regency which can be mobilized at any time.

In this landslide disaster management operation dozens of joint personnel were deployed starting from elements of the TNI, Polri, Civil Service Police Unit, Sukabumi Regency BPBD, Sukabumi Regency PMI and a number of volunteers from various communities.
