KPU Map Flood Prone TPS In Bandung In The 2024 Election

The Bandung City General Election Commission (KPU) has mapped out the location of the disaster-prone polling stations (TPS), especially floods during the 2024 General Election.

"The mapping has actually been carried out from afar and we also appeal to the voting committee (PPS) to find a place that is easily accessible," said Bandung KPU chairman Wenti Frihadianti in Bandung, Wednesday, January 24, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the potential for flood disasters and the emergence of inundation at the location where the TPS was established are the main vigilance so that in the 2019 Election, several sub-districts were flooded and did not happen again.

One of them, Rancasari Subdistrict in 2019, did experience flooding. But now the condition is already good because coordination has been carried out with the regional parties," he said.

Therefore, he said his party had coordinated with the Bandung City Government and regional voting officers (PPS) to establish TPS in an affordable and potential flood area.

"Well, regarding the weather issue, we also have coordination with the Bandung City Government so that for that place we will have a semi-open place and including if it rains, we anticipate it with tents," he said.

He hopes that the implementation of voting on February 14, 2024, the weather will be able to support it to make people more interested in coming to polling stations.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna, said that her party had also anticipated polling stations in this rainy season, one of which was by allowing school buildings to be used as polling stations during elections.

He added that the location of the TPS must be taken into account. Do not let it rain, many people do not voice their aspirations.

"We have asked regional officials to anticipate rainy weather during the election. They can use indoor places. Schools are also very possible to use, the important thing is to maintain neutrality," he said.
