Ship Sinks In Tagulandang, North Sulawesi: 10 Survived, 2 Killed, 6 Missing
The Ternate Basarnas conducted a search for six victims of the LCT Bora V ship that sank in the waters of Tamulandang, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (Sulut).
Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathur said, at around 11.20 WIT, his party moved to Batang Dua Island using KN SAR 237 Pandudewanata to help Basarnas Manado carry out the search for the six missing victims.
The main tools and SAR equipment used in search operations include KN SAR 237 Pandudewanata from Ternate, KN SAR Bimasena (Manado), Polairud Gandiwa Ship (Manado), evacuation equipment, medical equipment, and communication equipment.
Fathur Rahman mentioned the chronology of the incident, namely on Sunday, January 21 at 21.30 WITA, the LCT Bora V ship experienced an emergency ramp door that was released and sank due to the impact of extreme weather waves and needed evacuation assistance and then information was forwarded by Syahbandar Tagulang to Basarnas Manado.
On Tuesday, January 23, Basarnas Ternate received information from Basarnas Manado that at 12.00 WIT, the fishing boat KM Mitra Bahari found 12 victims in Batang Dua waters, Ternate.

The 12 victims were passengers and crew members from the LCT ship who had an accident. Of the 12 victims, it was reported that 10 people survived and two people died.
On Wednesday, January 24, at 11.10 WIT, Basarnas Ternate received information from the Manado Basarnas that the SAR operation on the 4th day entered the search area for Batang Dua Ternate Island with six victims still being searched.
"The number of victims of the sinking of the LCT Bora V ship is a total of 18 people. Of the 18 victims, ten people survived, two people died, and six people are still being searched," he said.
