Dewas Reveals Extortion That Makes "Buta", 93 Employees Turns Out To Be In Action In 3 KPK Detention Centers

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that illegal levies (extortion) of detention centers did not occur in just one place. There are two different places where similar practices occur.

Syamsuddin then called prisoners paying extortion for several things. Among them are to order food online via smuggled cell phones.

Furthermore, Syamsuddin said the trial for alleged ethical violations related to the receipt of extortion will be held on February 15. There are six clusters of employees who will be terminated and consist of 90 employees.

While the rest, there are three employees that have not been decided. Syamsuddin said the KPK Council was still focused on completing the current process.

Previously reported, the KPK Council said that alleged ethical violations related to extortion in detention centers dragged 93 people. The number quoted from the detainees for additional facilities reached Rp6.1 billion.

This figure was obtained after the KPK Council examined 169 people consisting of 27 people who were former KPK detainees and 137 people were employees who had worked at the KPK Detention Center. In addition, there are also 65 proofs of documents to depositing money of various value ranging from Rp. 1 million to Rp. 504 million.
