President Appoints Minister Of Communication And Information Budi Arie As Foreign Minister Ad Interim

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo appointed the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, as Minister of Foreign Affairs ad interim during Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on an official trip.

Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will travel to New York, United States, on January 21-22, 2024.

"It is with the letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs number 017/BK/2024/01 dated January 17, 2024, addressed to the President, regarding the application for a Office Travel Permit to New York, United States, we respectfully inform you that the President is pleased to appoint the Minister of Communication and Information as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ad Interim as long as the Minister of Foreign Affairs travels abroad on 21 to 22 January 2024," the letter was reported by ANTARA.

The letter, which was signed by the Minister of State Secretariat, Pratikno, has been in effect since Friday, January 19, 2024.
