TKN Opens Voice About PDIP's Request To Ask Gibran To Resign From The Mayor Of Surakarta
Jakarta - Secretary of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Nusron Wahid, responded to a request from the PDI-P faction (PDIP) of the Surakarta City DPRD asking for a candidate for vice president number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to resign from the position of Mayor of Surakarta.
According to Nusron, the request is political and far-fetched. You see, he claims that there is no job in Surakarta that was abandoned when Gibran played a double role as a vice presidential candidate as well as mayor.
"It was a political and far-fetched request, there was no neglected work. We actually suspected that in the end the request for resignation so that those who asked could freely rule in Solo and move the bureaucracy for political purposes," Nusron said as quoted by ANTARA on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
In addition, Nusron further saw the request as an effort to disrupt Gibran's concentration when the electability of candidate pair number 2 was high.
No wonder, Nusron believes that complaints about Gibran's performance as Mayor of Solo only come from the political elite, not directly from the community.
Moreover, there has been an argument that there has been a leadership (work in Surakarta) since Gibran was busy as a vice presidential candidate.

"There should be no negligence due to short leave. There is a Deputy Mayor (Solo) who is also a PDI-P cadre. This should be an opportunity to prove itself," said Nusron.
"I'm sure the people of Solo have one voice with Mas Gibran who has built an extraordinary Solo in the past two years."
"Soon there will be another Mayor of Solo who will become the national leader after Pak Jokowi. Let's be patient a month more. Even that, Mas Wali is not on leave every day," he said.
Meanwhile, according to Nusron, leave during the campaign season is commonplace. He then suggested that all claims related to Gibran's performance were proven by applicable regulations.
"If you insist on asking the Mayor to resign, it's better to prove whether what Mas Gibran has done violates existing regulations. His name is also the political year, the campaign season. You can't take a short leave," said Nusron.
Previously, it was known that the chairman of the PDI-P faction of the Surakarta City DPRD, YF Sukasno, asked Gibran to resign from his position as Mayor of Surakarta.
Gibran is considered not optimal in working as Mayor of Surakarta, one of which is because he often takes time off for campaigns.
However, he realized that there was no regulation that required Gibran to resign from his position. You see, the latest regulations state that regional officials running as presidential or vice presidential candidates do not have to resign.
"In my opinion, several times taking leave has caused disruption to government activities. So, in my opinion, it is better for Mas Wali (Gibran) to resign, even though the rules are not required to resign," said Sukasno.
