Khofifah 'Kompanye' Regarding Stunting At The 78th Harlah Muslimat NU

Chairman of the Central Executive (PP) Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Khofifah Indar Parawansa, invited NU Muslimat to support the stunting reduction program in Indonesia. Khofifah conveyed this invitation when giving his opening remarks at the 78th Harlah of NU Muslimat at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Saturday, January 20. In his remarks, the Governor of East Java stated that the NU Muslimat was ready to contribute to the reduction in stunting rates in Indonesia in order to support the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"We have inaugurated and confirmed Mother as driving stunting reduction in all provinces," said Khofifah.

Khofifah again asked about the readiness of NU Muslim cadres regarding efforts to reduce stunting. The Prabowo-Gibran Campaigner then invited NU Muslimat to reduce the stunting rate to 14 percent. "We will build and strengthen it according to the government's target, stunting in 2024 will be reduced by 14 percent. Can mothers be able to do it?," asked Khofifah, greeted by the ability of the audience.

It is known that stunting is one of the focuses of Presidential Candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, which is related to free lunch and milk programs for school students. Through this flagship program, Prabowo hopes that the stunting problem in Indonesia can be resolved quickly.

Quoting from the visual, mission, and program documents for candidate pairs (paslon) number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming will provide free daily lunch to pre-school students, elementary schools (SD), junior high schools (SMP), high schools (SMA), and pesantren.

"Providing free lunch and milk at schools and Islamic boarding schools, as well as nutrition assistance for toddlers and pregnant women," the document reads.

"This program targets more than 80 million beneficiaries with 100 percent coverage by 2029," the program continued.

Until now, the Indonesian government has made the acceleration of stunting reduction one of the national priority programs. The government targets the stunting rate to decrease to 14 percent by 2024.
