Honda Torehkan Record Successfully Selling More Than 290 Thousand Hybrid Cars In The US

Honda has again recorded a brilliant achievement by hitting record sales of the highest hybrid cars throughout 2023, securing a total of 293,640 units in the United States (US) market, which is equivalent to a quarter of the total sales of the model with this brand.

In detail, a flagship SUV like the Honda CR-V Hybrid became the best-selling hybrid-engine model on uncle sam's soil, with a total of 197,317 units sold. Meanwhile, the Accord Hybrid model leads hybrid sedan sales by reaching 96,323 vehicles.

With this achievement, Honda managed to record sales of more than one million units of electric-based vehicles, including battery electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids. This projection is believed to continue to grow, especially with the presence of the Honda Prologue this year, as the first fully electric EV SUV.

Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, American Honda Motor Co, stated that hybrid model sales in 2023 will be a key step towards the manufacturer's target of selling 100 percent electric vehicles by 2040.

"With the presence of a fully electric Honda Prologue and the launch of a new Civic hybrid this year, Honda is determined to continue to increase sales of electric cars in 2024 and beyond," Woelfer said in an official statement from the manufacturer, Thursday, January 18.

Honda, which is committed to achieving carbon neutrality for all company products and activities by 2050, also plans to sell battery-based electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cells (FCVs), representing 100 percent of their new vehicle sales by 2040.

Previously, the brand founded by Soichiro Honda had introduced a series of concept electric cars named 'Seri 0' on the 2024 Consumer Electronic Show (CES), including two vehicles, namely Space-Hub and Saloon.
