Its Function Is For Agriculture, Dawuhan Madiun Reservoir Will Be Developed By BBWS Bengawan Solo As A Tourist Destination

The Dawuhan Reservoir in Sidomulyo Village, Madiun Regency, East Java (East Java) will be developed into a tourist spot in addition to its main function for agricultural irrigation.

The development is an initiation of the Bengawan Solo River Basin Center (BBWS) following the revitalization process in Dawuhan Reservoir.

"Waduk Dawuhan now serves not only for irrigation, but also as an attractive destination with additional facilities such as pavilions, mini theaters, public toilets, sports areas, and children's playgrounds," said Dawuhan Reservoir Officer for BBWS Bengawan Solo Agung Wirasat in Madiun, East Java, Tuesday, January 16, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the revitalization of the Dawuhan Reservoir aims to empower the surrounding community and provide comfortable recreation areas for people visiting Madiun Regency.

Along with the addition of these public facilities, Dawuhan Reservoir is now visited by many residents, especially on Sundays.

"This reservoir becomes crowded, especially on holidays. There are food and children's toys traders, usually even more crowded on Sundays. And more interestingly, entering the reservoir is free," he said.

The Dawuhan Reservoir has an area of 1,273 hectares and an inundation area of more than 100 hectares. The reservoir functions to irrigate rice fields in 10 villages in three sub-districts, namely Wonoasri, Balerejo and Madiun sub-districts.

With the addition of its function as a recreation area, it is hoped that the Dawuhan Reservoir will be more attractive for tourists and local residents to get economic benefits for improving welfare.
