Ogah Releases Too Much Shares In BSI, BNI Boss: 5 Percent Enough
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI), Royke Tumilaar revealed, his party will not release large share ownership or divestment in PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) or BSI. He said, he would only release about 5 percent.
For your information, the composition of BSI's current share ownership is 51.74 percent held by Bank Mandiri. Then, BNI itself pocketed 23.24 percent. Then, BRI as much as 15.38 percent.
"For us, maybe it's not big for a while. Maybe about 5 percent is enough," said Royke when met in Jakarta, written Tuesday, January 16.
Royke also said that the implementation of this stock divestment would not be rushed. In fact, he revealed, he still plans to contain the corporate action.
The reason is, Royke said BNI sees BSI's performance as very good. This condition, he said, would have a positive impact on BNI who pocketed shares in BSI.
"Not yet, if you can be detained, just hold on. Yes, we did before if there were investors who would come in, want to take it. But if we see BSI, the business is good, we should just defend it," explained Royke.
When the divestment is completed, he said, the plan is that the funds obtained will be allocated to inject capital into its subsidiary.

Even so, Royke said, the need for funds for non-organic BNI business growth could also come from other schemes. So, he said, it is not only done through divestment.
If BSI has not been able to get investors, then we will run, we have a source of funding as well. Road divestment, we also think inorganic, organic ones must also keep going. It's just a matter of timing, if there is an opportunity, we take it, we don't have to wait for BSI. But if there is BSI, it might encourage us to be faster," he said.
