Shouting With Sajam, Man Of Responsibility In Samarinda Arrested By Police
JAKARTA - The police arrested a man with the initials A (35) screaming with sharp weapons (sajam) in the Sungai Kunjang District, Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim).
"The 110 Beat 7 Team 2 patrol unit together with members of the Sungai Kunjang Police went straight to the crime scene (TKP) after receiving reports from the public," said Kasihumas Polresta Samarinda Iptu M. Rizal Zain in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Sunday, January 14. At the crime scene, the police found the perpetrator who was screaming unclear while carrying a knife. The perpetrator is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drinking on Saturday, January 13.
The perpetrator was immediately arrested because the community in whose report felt threatened by his actions. "We managed to secure the perpetrator without resistance and take him to the Sungai Kunjang Police for further processing," Rizal said. Rizal added that the perpetrators would be subject to Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning possession of a knife without a permit with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
"We also appreciate residents who swiftly report cases of commotion that make the community uneasy, especially those that are openly noisy with sharp weapons," said Rizal.

He added that his party had handled several cases of commotion, including fights with sharp weapons that occurred in Samarinda. He reminded the public not to get involved in actions that could disrupt public order. "We hope that, with cooperation between the police and the community, Samarinda can become a safe, comfortable and healthy city," he said.
