KPU Regulates That The Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidate Zones Are Not In The Same Region As Each General Meeting Campaign
The General Election Commission (KPU) held a coordination meeting with the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates and political parties participating in the 2024 General Election to divide the zoning for the implementation of the general meeting campaign which will take place from January 21 to February 10.
KPU commissioner August Mellaz explained that this coordination was carried out to prevent the implementation of open campaigns for presidential and vice-presidential candidates from being in the same area and at the same time as other presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
Mellaz explained that the KPU divides into three zonings every day of the general meeting campaign, according to the number of presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
"So the campaign zone for the candidate pair is divided into three zones, zones A, B, and C. Later, the zone A of the candidate pair will be determined which money, which candidate zone B is, which candidate zone is C," said Mellaz at the KPU RI Office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta, Sunday, January 14.
For the campaign for the political party general meeting, the KPU said that the zoning division of each political party participated in the campaign area for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates that were carried or supported by each political party.
However, in today's meeting, there are still two political parties that have not expressed their support for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, namely the Labor Party and the National Awakening Party (PKN).
"The Labor Party and PKN parties will be drawn up in their own campaign zones for the implementation of the general meeting campaign," explained Mellaz.
