Logistics Transport Truck For The 2024 Election Falls In Peterongan Village, Jombang KPU Recalculates

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jombang Regency in East Java (Jatim) recalculated the election logistics following the truck carrying it crashed on Jalan Raya Peterongan Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency, East Java.

Jombang KPU member Abdul Wadud Burhan asked the public not to misunderstand the fallen logistics. He emphasized that the logistics was not a ballot but a cover.

"It will be sent to the TPS for the cover of the minutes, also for invalid ballots," he said in Jombang, January 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that there was also no special writing on the cover of the cube paper so that the models in all KPUs in Indonesia were the same.

He added that there was also no special writing for example for Jombang. The same cover also applies to all of Indonesia. Later the cover will be written manually by KPPS during the process of granting voting rights.

According to him, the Jombang KPU has received an official report regarding the submission of the fallen logistics in accordance with the minutes of admission. However, in total it is still calculated.

"The amount needs to be calculated first, less or not. If there is less, we ask the provider," he continued.

He also added that the ballot for the sorting process and its multiples are now complete.

The KPU began to carry out sorting and multiplicating ballots on January 5, 2024 so that they could be completed more quickly, namely January 13, 2024.

From the activities carried out, the KPU found that thousands of ballot sheets were damaged. For now, data from the damage has been reported for a replacement.

After the sorting and multiplicating of the ballot was completed, Burhan said the KPU would immediately coordinate with PPK and PPS to prepare for the election logistics packaging.

"We invite PPK and PPS on Monday (January 15) for technical guidance by packaging later. We will explain to them which logistics enter the ballot boxes and which do not enter, so it is hoped that they will not enter the wrong one later," said Burhan.

The incident of a truck transporting election logistics fell on Jalan Raya Desa Peterongan, Jombang, which occurred on Saturday, January 13 evening.

In Jombang Regency, the 2024 General Election was attended by 1,011,402 people who were included in the permanent voter list (DPT). Their political aspirations will be channeled through 3,858 polling stations in all sub-districts in the Jombang area.
