KAI Ensures All Pandalungan Train Passengers Are Safe And Evacuating

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) stated that the Pandalungan Train Accident (KA) that occurred on Sunday, January 14, 2024, this morning confirmed that there were no casualties.

It is known that the Pandalungan train (KA 75A) on the Gambir - Surabaya - Jember route at Tanggulangin Station, Sidoarjo Regency, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, went off track and caused the train to plummet. Currently, the evacuation process for passengers and a series of trains is ongoing.

"We convey that there were no casualties for this incident, as a follow-up service for customers, KAI carried out an operational train travel scheme from cross-bangil playing through the poor and kertosono," said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus in an official statement on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Joni added that KAI also provides buses from Bangil station and Sidoarjo station to take customers to the destination station.

Meanwhile, the impact of the drop in the railway line on the Tanggulangin Station emplacement has not been passed by KA for a while.

In addition, the temporary disruption of the train route due to the incident was the route from Surabaya to Malang and Jember.

The trains that have been temporarily disrupted due to the incident are KA (75A) Pandalungan, Gambir - Surabaya Jember and KA (432) Commuter Line Penataran.

Currently, KAI is carrying out evacuation efforts on the train series and normalizing the track.
