President Jokowi Meets Chairman Of The Vietnam National Assembly
President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue in Lotus Room, National Assembly, Hanoi, Vietnam.
During the meeting, the Head of State discussed increasing Indonesia-Vietnam cooperation in various fields.
One of the collaborations discussed is in the field of renewable energy. President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for VinFast's USD 1.2 billion investment commitment to the development of an electric car and battery ecosystem in Indonesia.
"I expect Your Excellency's support to encourage the policy of accelerating the energy transition and independence of the renewable energy industry as well as the realization of the EV production production between VinFast and PT IBC," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.
In addition, the meeting also discussed Indonesia-Vietnam fisheries cooperation.
Jokowi hopes that the support of the Vietnam National Assembly in launching the ratification process and encouraging the government to complete negotiations so that it can produce concrete cooperation through the MoU for Fisheries Cooperation that prioritizes international law and national law respectively.

Finally, President Jokowi and Chairman of the Vietnam Assembly also discussed cooperation between parliaments. The President appreciated the MoU for Inter-parliamentary Cooperation and hoped that this commitment could improve the partnership between the two countries.
"I welcome the MoU for Inter-parliament Cooperation and hope to strengthen partnerships through exchanging information, increasing capacity, and exchanging delegates between parliaments," said the President.
