Mahfud Promises Subsidy For Language Test Fees For Lectures Abroad
PASURUAN - Candidate for vice president serial number 3 Mahfud MD said he and presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo promised to provide subsidies for English test fees for overseas college purposes.
"The language requirements must still be fulfilled if you want to go to Europe, to America, the English must be good. We will pay for it later," said Mahfud after visiting Darut Tauhid Canga'an Bangil Islamic Boarding School, Pasuruan Regency, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.
Mahfud said that currently there are scholarships that provide language test fees for students or people who want to study in the Middle East region.
"It's just the country too. If you want to go to the Middle East, you don't have to use TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) English, Arabic, it's already a lot and it's been given a lot of scholarships," he said.

Mahfud also said that he and Ganjar would facilitate language learning in educational institutions, including pesantren.
"Then Islamic boarding schools now already have an English laboratory, Arabic language, which is already good, we just need to facilitate it," said Mahfud.
