Visiting Tebuireng, Ganjar Remembers Gus Dur Often Prioritizes Humanity Over Politics
Presidential candidate (candidate) number 3, Ganjar Pranowo always remembers the spirit of tolerance and the struggle of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur. According to him, Gus Dur always prioritizes humanity over political choices.
"Always what we remember is the spirit of his struggle in protecting Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. I never forget, above politics there is humanity. That's Gus Dur always conveys it," said Ganjar after a pilgrimage to Gus Dur's grave at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Jombang Regency, East Java (East Java), Friday, January 12, was confiscated by Antara.
The spirit of Gus Dur's struggle, which is meant by Ganjar, is the strength to maintain Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. According to Ganjar, this spirit has kept Gus Dur respected for generations in the country.
He also reminded the younger generation as the successor of the Indonesian nation to always remember the spirit of Gus Dur's struggle, namely having a sense of tolerance, mutual respect, and respecting each other with high respect.
On the same occasion, Ganjar added that he specifically did not have the moment to intersect directly with Gus Dur.

However, he is grateful that at this time he can actually have direct contact with Gus Dur's family. He also admitted that he often met the wife of the late Gus Dur, Sinta Nuriyah. Ganjar admires the figure of Sinta Nuriyah who fasts every day, and even rarely sleeps.
"I feel happy that finally now I can communicate with Gus Dur's family, a big family like the one here (Tebuireng)," he said.
