Labuhanbatu Regent Becomes Suspect, Wears KPK Orange Vest
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained the Regent of Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra, Erik Adtrada Ritonga. Erik was detained after being named a suspect along with three other people after being caught in a sting operation (OTT).
Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that the determination of the suspect began with a public report that ended in OTT on Thursday, January 11. It is suspected that there was a bribe because money was found in the crackdown.
"We have named the suspect, brother EAR, Regent of Labuhanbatu," said Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 12.
Ghufron said the alleged bribery was related to the procurement of goods and services in Labuhanbatu Regency.
