BNPB: Rehabilitation And Reconstruction After Cianjur Earthquake Reaches 80 Percent

Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto stated that the rehabilitation and reconstruction process after the Cianjur earthquake had reached 80 percent.

The rehabilitation and reconstruction process itself went through four stages which included the 1st stage with funds of IDR 251.35 billion, the 2nd stage of IDR 436.14 billion, the 3rd stage of IDR 1.22 trillion, and the 4th stage which is currently running IDR 846.42 billion.

The 1-3rd phase of funds totaling Rp1.91 trillion was used to build and repair 15,070 heavily damaged housing units, 14,754 moderately damaged houses, and 33,103 lightly damaged houses.

The funds were also used to relocate 541 housing units covering 200 housing units filled in Sirnagih Cilaku Village, 151 housing units that were filled gradually in Jammal Mande Village, and 190 family cards (KK) in the preparation process in Babakan Karet Village.

According to Suharyanto, the process of handling the Cianjur earthquake is among the fastest compared to the handling of previous places such as in Palu and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"It means that it doesn't mean that the old one is not good, no. It means that we really have to get here better because this disaster will continue to exist," he concluded.
