Sandiaga: Intellectual Property Rights Must Be The Power Of Creative Economy Perpetrators
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) emphasizes that the Right to Intellectual Property (Haki) must be the main force in business development for parekraf actors throughout Indonesia.
Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said, HaKI is an opportunity for creative economy business actors throughout Indonesia to be able to improve product quality, competitiveness and expand opportunities to develop the market.
"HAKI needs to be taken seriously by creative economy actors (ekraf) throughout Indonesia, so that their products have legal protection and of course develop more," Sandiaga said in an official statement received by VOI, Friday, January 13.
Sandiaga said, in the 2022 World Conference and Creative Economy (WCCE) in Bali, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the creative economy in Indonesia and many other countries would become the backbone of the future and be taken into account as an inclusive economic power.

"Therefore, the existence of the HaKI is important because it is not only a means of protection from goods and services produced, but also for optimizing the MSME business and the creative industry," he said.
Moreover, said Sandiaga, through Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2022, it is possible for creative economy actors to apply for intellectual property rights as objects of financing.
"Because now the right to intellectual property and halal certification is an opportunity for MSMEs to advance to class," he said.
