Bulog Make Sure There Are No Political Attributes In Rice Social Assistance

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog ensures that there are no political attributes in the distribution of rice social assistance programs (bansos) to the community. Bulog also emphasized the focus on the task of implementing the distribution of rice food aid.

President Director of Perum BULOG Bayu Krisnamurthi said Bulog is a state-owned company assigned by the government as the executor to distribute rice aid.

As is known, the government decided to increase the number of beneficiary families (KPM) of food assistance in 2024 to 22 million KPM from the previous 21.3 million KPM.

In distributing rice food assistance, said Bayu, Bulog collaborates with professional distribution and transporter companies. This means that Bulog only focuses on ensuring that KPM receives 10 kilograms of rice food assistance (kg), and they ensure that they are responsible for the entire distribution process.

Furthermore, Bayu emphasized that they are not in the realm of thinking about other things outside of this task. In this case, it concerns that food assistance is a form of politicization ahead of the 2024 election.

"For us, the business is that the KPM family has received 10 kg of rice and we can account for the process. That's all. We don't think about the others," said Bayu at a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Thursday, January 11.

Make Sure There Are No Political Attributes

Bayu said, in every location where they distribute food aid, Bulog has ensured that no political attributes have been added, except natural attributes, such as post office attributes or village attributes.

"We are all confirmed that in all processes there are no attributes, there should be no attributes except those that are natural from there," he said.

Regarding the evaluation from the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and the Food Task Force, Bayu admitted that he had submitted the evaluation task to the institution.

Bayu believes that Bawaslu and the Food Task Force already know the steps that must be taken.

"I think he all knows what to do, yes we will just do it," he explained.
