Malaysia Open 2024: Dejan/Gloria Lose, Mixed Doubles Out
JAKARTA – Indonesia's representatives in the mixed doubles at the 2024 Malaysia Open are certain to be finished following the defeat of Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
Dejan/Gloria left the second round of the BWF Super 1000 event after losing 12-21 and 16-21 against Seo Seung-jae/Chae Yu-jung, Thursday, January 11 2024, afternoon of Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
After the match, Dejan said that their defeat was caused by several factors, especially in the first game, where they fell behind from the start.
"We lost on serve and opening from them. We couldn't get away from there. We weren't able to play a lot of rallies and made mistakes," said Dejan.
"We have tried what we can. "In the second game we managed to catch up, but they were still superior," he said again.

This result adds to the bad record of Dejan/Gloria's meeting with the South Korean representative. In the two meetings last year, Dejan/Gloria also always lost.
Dejan/Gloria felt their first defeat when they met in the first round of the Indonesia Open. Last year's second defeat occurred in the last 16 of the Korea Open.
The mixed doubles who went home first were Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati. They lifted their suitcases from the last 16 of the Malaysia Open 2024 after being beaten by the first seeds from China, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong.
