Police Destroy 41,030 Ecstasy Pills In Palembang

Palembang Police, South Sumatra destroyed evidence of 266 grams of methamphetamine and 41,030 ecstasy pills.

The destruction of drug evidence was carried out at the Palembang Police Headquarters by soluting using a blender.

Prior to the destruction, methamphetamine was examined by the Forensic Laboratory officer of the South Sumatra Police Branch to check the amphetamine and methamphetamine levels contained in it.

After it was confirmed that the results of the examination of the evidence were positive for drug containing, they were immediately destroyed.

Palembang Police Chief Kombes Harryo Sugihhartono explained that the drug destruction was the result of the arrests made by the Palembang Police Satreskoba in early 2024.

The police secured evidence in the form of 41,030 ecstasy pills from two suspects from Datuk Bandar District, Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 and Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

In addition, the Criminal Investigation Unit also arrested a drug dealer in the Sematang Borang sub-district, Palembang City, with evidence in the form of methamphetamine weighing 267.30 grams.

There were also quite large arrests through the Sukarami Police, namely marijuana weighing 17 kilograms.

"Today, the evidence that has been confiscated in the form of 266 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 41,030 pills of ecstasy, and 17 kilograms of marijuana, we held the destruction by witnessed directly by the District Attorney's Office, Bid Lafbor Polda South Sumatra," he said.
