Kadin Asks For Elected Presidential Candidates To Eradicate Extortion In Regional Investment
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Diana Dewi revealed that investors are still complaining about the large number of illegal levies (extortion) in the regions as a result of differences in regulations between the central and regional governments.
"Once again I emphasize, the central government has any policy the local government must follow that, and what we feel turns out to be a lot of extortion in the region," he said at the Presidential Candidate Dialogue with Kadin: Towards Indonesia Gold 2045, in Djakarta Theater-Lounge Area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 10.
In fact, Diana said that local governments often add policies that ultimately increase the cost burden for entrepreneurs. He also said the cost is even higher than in cities like in Jakarta.
They justify, if we call it undertable, there are always many things. Things that we think need to be central and no longer need, add something and this does not mean that in our area we actually reduce the cost of high costs. But we open businesses in areas that we get cost-cost outside of what we feel in DKI, we feel that, "said Diana.
In addition, he said, the business licensing process in the regions also often has different regulations from the central government. Therefore, he asked the central government to also pay attention to this.
"Hopefully in the future the central government will really pay attention to the policies of the local government issued even though there is currently regional autonomy. This is very disturbing," he said.

"So it is impossible for Indonesia to become big if the regions are not supported, this is what I feel as the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry," he continued.
Not only that, Diana also hopes that the future leaders will also pay attention to urban development as one of the supporters of economic growth.
"So we hope that the development vision from an equitable and equitable point of view for every city and district must also be underlined," he said.
