The Nataru Gas Subholding Task Force 2023-2024 Maintains Distribution Of 879 National Natural Gas BBTUDs

JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding has successfully carried out the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year Task Force (Satgas Nataru) smoothly and safely under control during the range from 15 December 2023 to 7 January 2024.

PGN as Subholding Gas coordinates the control and security of natural gas supply chains during the Nataru task force period, which consists of LNG storage and regasification activities, Oil and Gas Transportation, as well as Commerce, so that natural gas distribution to 4,986 customers with industrial, commercial and small categories, as well as 834,165 household customers remain safe and reliable.

This year's Nataru Subholding Gas Task Force has been successfully implemented safely and there are no significant obstacles or fatality events. Gas distribution to all customer segments during Nataru can be properly guarded and maintained. There are a number of customers, especially commercial industries whose gas absorption has decreased due to holidays. During the Nataru period, the completion rate of customer complaints handling reached 99.76 percent," said PGN's Director of Sales and Operations, Ratih Esti Prihatini, in a statement, Wednesday, January 10.

The volume of natural gas trading in all customer sectors is in a safe condition, namely 879 BBTUD or 100 percent of nominations for gas distribution to customers can be met. The availability of LNG through the LNG Lampung facility, Perta Arun Gas and Nusantara Regas also played a role in fulfilling natural gas supply to customers with an increase in LNG regasification volume by 54 percent compared to the previous year's Nataru from 308 BBTUD to 476 BBTUD.

"The Nataru Task Force has also alerted 23 operational areas and Nataru Command Posts spread throughout the infrastructure operations area and the Gas Subholding and 24-hour Contact Center network with 135 numbers," added the Head of the Nataru SH Gas Task Force, Tatit Sri Jayendra.

Efforts to secure and manage operations during Nataru are also strengthened by monitoring and controlling gas distribution throughout its network in real time which can be monitored through the Integrated Monitoring Center (IMOC). IMOC is an integrated Gas subholding monitoring center, including operational monitoring activities for natural gas distribution, monitoring of infrastructure conditions for natural gas distribution facilities, and real-time management of customer complaints.

"On the other hand, there is an increase in the use of BBG in SPBG which is managed by Gagas. This is quite encouraging where the use of natural gas in the transportation sector can contribute to reducing emissions and can be an energy choice during the current energy transition period," said Ratih.

It is a record that the volume of BBG sales during the Nataru period increased by 42 percent when compared to the volume in the Naru 2022 period. This is most likely the case with increased community mobility during the holiday period using public transportation.

"Vehicles of Gasku users filling in Gagas' SPBG vary, namely bajaj, angkot, and taxis during Naru. Sales of BBG at Pondok Ungu SPBG increase in terms of volume. The absorption is almost balanced between taxis, angkots, and bajaj. Meanwhile, at SPBG Bogor and Klender, there are directly visible vehicles that dominate. SPBG Bogor is dominated by angkots, at SPBG Klender is dominated by bajaj," said the President Director of Gagas, Muhammad Hardiansyah.

BBG distributed is 496,594 Liters of Premium Setara (LSP). It was observed that the increase in BBG sales occurred at SPBG Pondok Ungu Bekasi around 4 percent compared to the month before Nataru. All SPBG managed by PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas) also operates normally to serve gas refueling (BBG) Gasku and Gaslink during Nataru 2023.
