The Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak Toll Road Is Closed Again This Afternoon
PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) said the 48-kilometer Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak (km) toll road which is part of the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat (Kepat) toll road was closed again on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 13.00 WIB.
Previously, the toll road has been functionalized since December 22, 2023 to support homecoming and return during the 2023 Christmas and/or New Year 2024 holiday period.
"After 20 days of functionalization to support the flow of homecoming and backflow during the 2023 Christmas and/or New Year 2024 holidays, Hamawas as BUJT Kupas will precisely close the Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak Toll Road on January 10, 2024, at 13.00 WIB," said Hutama Marga President Director Waskita Dindin Solakhuddin in a written statement, Wednesday, January 10.
The Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak toll road itself has been passed by 145,136 vehicles with an average daily traffic of 8,063 vehicles from 22 December 2023 to 8 January 2024.
Vehicles passing are dominated by Class I vehicles or private vehicles. This significant traffic shows a positive response and enthusiasm from the community to go through the Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak Toll Road.
"By functionalizing the Tebing Tinggi-Sinaksak section, the community can be helped by ease of mobility and cut travel times significantly after going through this toll road," he said.
In addition, during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays, Hamawas has also operated the 28.3 km Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road without being charged aka Rp0 without tapping the toll gate or free access.
Starting January 10, 2024 at 14.00 WIB, motorists are required to return to tapping on the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road by tariff.

Meanwhile, Hamawas is still continuing the construction of the Kutepat Toll Road. As of December 31, 2023, the progress of the construction of Section 2 Inderapura-Kuala Tanjung reached 99.85 percent, Section 3 Tebing Tinggi-Serbelawan was 95.09 percent, and Section 4 Serbelawan-Pematang Siantar reached 73.16 percent.
