West Java Provincial Government Waits For The Ministry Of Home Affairs' Decision Regarding The Acting Regent Of Garut
BANDUNG - Daily Executive (Plh) of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Mohammad Taufiq Budi Santoso revealed that the West Java Provincial Government is now waiting for the results of a decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the Acting (Pj) of the Garut Regent.
The reason, said Taufiq, is that the West Java Provincial Government has proposed three candidates for the Garut Regent at the Ministry of Home Affairs in December 2023, as candidates to replace the definitive Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan whose position expires at the end of January 2024.
"Yang Garut telah diajukan Pak Acting Governor (Bey Machmudin) pada tahun lalu di Desember. Rencananya kalau tidak salah 23 Januari berakhir, sehingga perlu ada pelantikan Pj Bupati Garut," ujar Taufiq di Bandung, dilansir ANTARA, Selasa, 9 Januari.
Taufiq Budi continued, his party will obey the decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding who will be appointed as Acting Regent of Garut, which could be outside the proposed name, according to the considerations of the central government.

"The name, already from the Acting Governor has been proposed. It's just a matter of how the decision of the Minister of Home Affairs (Tito Karnavian), who will be the Acting Regent of Garut," he said.
Meanwhile, for other regions, namely Cirebon Regency and Bogor City, it will also be determined after the definitive term of office of regional head ends.
