Hoaxes Rise In Political Year, Police Do These 5 Things

JAKARTA - The spread of fake news or hoaxes is undeniable to often occur during the political year. Therefore, the National Police took five mitigation steps.

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Trunoyudo, said that one of the steps taken was to increase public understanding of the dangers of spreading hoax content on various social media. "Third, establish communication with Social Media Platform where the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information is the leading sector," Trunoyudo said in his statement, Tuesday, January 9.

The National Police will also increase the effectiveness of blocking content containing SARA and hoaxes. Bhayangkara Corps will also be more responsive, so that not only reactionaries but recognize and anticipate various risks.

So far, issues that are often circulating regarding public policies, TNI or Polri elements, SARA issues, and hoaxes.
