KBUMN Will Cut The Red Plate Company Again If It Can't Fix Performance
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of SOEs, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, has again revealed the discourse of cutting the number of state-owned companies. He said that if SOEs could not improve the company's performance or carry out transformation, it would likely be closed.
For your information, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo previously revealed the discourse of cutting the number of SOEs to below 40 companies. As for 2023, seven SOEs have been disbanded.
"Earlier I said, if for example it cannot be repaired, it cannot be transformed, we will add more closures," he said after attending the ID Food BUMN Holding Performance Submission event, at Waskita Rajawali Tower, Jakarta, Monday, January 8.
Furthermore, Tiko, Kartika's nickname, emphasized that there has been no decision regarding the closure of BUMN this year. Tiko said that his party would still monitor the performance of the BUMN currently available in the next nine months.
"But we are looking at it for up to nine months," said Tiko.
Tiko said the company's current work study was also carried out on dozens of SOEs which are currently still being handled by PT Asset Management Company (PAA).
"We are still studying, there are a lot of them at PPA. In PPA there are still 14 more companies that we are studying," he said.

For your information, throughout 2023, the Ministry of SOEs has closed seven of the 22 state-owned companies handled by PPA. The seven companies are PT Iglas, PT Industri Sandang Nusantara, PT Istaka Karya, PT Kertas Kraft Aceh, PT Kertas Leces, PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines, and PT Pembiayaan Armada Niaga Nasional (PANN).
Then, there are still 15 SOEs in unhealthy condition that are being handled by PPA, namely PT Amarta Karya (Persero), PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero), PT Djakarta Lloyd (Persero), PT Dok and Shipship Kodja Bahari (Persero), PT Doc and Surabaya Shipship (Persero), and PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero).
Then, PT Indah Karya (Persero), PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero), PT Semen Kupang (Persero), PT Entrepreneurs of the Batam Island Industrial Estate (Persero), Perum Percetakan Negara Republik Indonesia (PNRI), PT Primissima (Persero), PT Varuna Tirta Prakasya (Persero), and PT PANN Pembiayaan Maritime (anak usaha PT PANN).
