Samsung Introduces New In&Out Flip And Screen Technology At CES 2024

As an initial display before the CES 2024 main event, Samsung has provided a leak regarding "new generation of products that can be folded in and out," along with a foldable and shifted OLED with a monitor size. The foldable device in and out, with the design of a type of phone flip, referred to as "In&Out Flip."

The company will provide more details about this technology at tomorrow's press conference, but it looks like we're still at the proof concept stage. Although often devices like this end up as a dead end in the evolution of technology, Samsung managed to start a foldable phone trend a few years ago, so nothing is too strange.

"In&Out Flip is a technology that can provide new alternatives for consumers who prefer rod-shaped phones because of the thickness of foldable products," the company said in a release. "When folded outside, both the front and back of the product can be used as a screen, creating a new user experience."

This technology is actually an effort to reduce the need for a separate external screen found in the current generation of foldable devices. Removing the secondary screen will make the product profile slimmer.

Samsung claims to have tested this device at temperatures ranging from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The development team conducts trials by submerging in water screens, washing sand, and reflecting basketball on its surface.

Apart from In&Out Flip, the roll screen is also exhibited at CES 2024. This technology comes on Rollable Flex devices, as well as Flex Hybrid devices, which combines it with a sliding screen. Also displayed at the event is an unnamed earbud box with an integrated screen.

There is no information on when, or whether, these products will enter the market, but will most likely not appear at the upcoming Galaxy S24 event from the company
