TKN Spokesperson Reminds Prabowo's Role In Saving PMI From The Death Penalty

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Hamdan Hamedan reminded the role of presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto when helping Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) named Wilfrida from the death penalty in Malaysia.

"As a retired person, I still remember his lobby for the Malaysian government (as well as renting the best lawyer) in saving Wilfrida, a migrant worker from Indonesia, from the hanger. For Mr. Prabowo, no nation's children should be treated unfairly, let alone given the death penalty in someone's country," Hamdan said in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

Hamdan also recalled when he took the national defense class taught by Russell D.Howard, a retired general of the United States special forces with academic experience at West Point and Harvard.

On the first day of class, continued Hamdan, Russell stopped the students and asked about the origins of the students.

When I answered that I came from Indonesia, the general spontaneously asked, "Do you know Mr. Prabowo Subianto," said Hamdan.

Hamdan then replied that he knew Prabowo because he was a national figure. Hamdan was curious and asked why Russel asked him about it.

"I know Pak Prabowo. He is one of the best and most intelligent military figures I know," Hamdan said, imitating Russell's answer.

Hamdan said he was proud to hear the praise. According to him, Prabowo is not only a national figure, but also internationally known in the East and West.

Indonesia, as many pundits (cendekawans) say, is a giant that is starting to wake up. He needs a capable leader to bring this great country to stand tall at the forefront of international relations. And I believe Pak Prabowo is the person," he said.
