Mahfud MD: Throw Hate Out Of The Heart So As Not To Be A Victim Of Hoaxes

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD reminded to remove hatred from the heart so that fake news or hoaxes often appear ahead of the election.

"I often tell my friends, I was a bit harsh, 'Why do you hate other people who have different religions? It's because you hate you can't sleep, you hate it so much. That's what your sleep hates is good, even you don't, you can't even sleep," Mahfud said in his remarks at the Communion of Indonesian Churches, Grha Oikoumene, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

Mahfud said there would definitely be people who hate differences, but he again reminded that such hatred would only harm themselves.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs said that to get rid of hatred from the heart, we can start by respecting and respecting each other, and it must be remembered that we are all brothers of one nation and one country.

"To respect and respect each other, we must be strengthened continuously. The sense of unity and brotherhood must continue to be strengthened," he said.

According to Mahfud, Indonesia will definitely be colored by differences, but what must be remembered is that Indonesia was built with the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

"Together and diversity must be persecuted. Thus, we will avoid suspicion, let alone hate. Suspecting is not allowed, let alone hating," said Mahfud.

If the spirit of diversity has been embedded in the heart and hatred for differences has disappeared, Mahfud believes that no one will be consumed by hoaxes that often mushroom during the election period.

"Thus, we will not be consumed by hoax news and hate speech which is getting more frequent or always appears ahead of the election," he said.
