SpaceX Launches First Commercial Geostationary Satellite From Sweden

JAKARTA SpaceX, a commercial space company, successfully launched Ovzon 3 roadband satellite owned by Ovzon AB, a satellite service provider from Sweden, on Thursday, January 4 at 06.04 WIB.

The satellite was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida using a Falcon 9 rocket. About eight minutes after taking off, the first phase of Falcon 9 returned to Earth and landed at Cape Canaveral's Landing Zone 1.

The launch of the Ovzon 3 satellite is the tenth flight for the first phase booster of the Falcon 9. This special booster was previously used at the launch of CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, and much more.

After the first phase returned, the upper stage of Falcon 9 continued to push Ovzon 3 into space. About 38.5 minutes after launch, SpaceX said that their rocket had deployed Ovzon 3 to the Orbit Transfer Geosynchron (GTO).

Ovzon 3 is a revolutionary satellite from Ovzon as well as Sweden's first geostationary satellite from a commercial company. The satellite is powered by high-power steering beams and On-Board processors affecting mobility, performance, and resilience.

With the two main technologies Ovzon 3, namely the most powerfulspotbeams capable of being controlled from space and the unique On-Board processor, the company believes that their satellites are more sophisticated than other Swedish commercial satellites.

Just like roadbandsatellite services in general, Ovzon 3 is claimed to be able to meet demand for mobile roadband coverage around the world. With its main technology support, Ovzon wants to provide better networks in areas with minimal networks.
