Anies Promises To Add Hajj Embarkation Locations In West Sumatra
Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan promised to add an embarkation location or airport for the departure of pilgrims from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia in West Sumatra (West Sumatra).
This is one of Anies' campaign promises at Anies' Desak event at Cindu Mato Field, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra.
"God willing, we want to make West Sumatra one of the places for the Hajj to depart from Indonesia," said Anies, Wednesday, January 3.
For your information, for Hajj organizers in 2024, the government has set 14 Hajj embarkations, namely BTJ (Banda Aceh), KNO (Kualanamu), PDG (Padang), BTH (Batam), PLM (Palembang), JKG (Jakarta Pondok Gede), JKS (Jakarta Bekasi), SOC (Solo), SUB (Surabaya), BDJ (Banjarmasin), BPN (Balikpapan), UPG (Ujungpangan), LOP (Lombok), and KJT (Kertajati).
In addition, Anies also promised to reactivate the railway lines that cross West Sumatra. Some of them are the Naras-River Limau, Sawah Lunto-Solok, to Sawah Lunto-Tabal.
"This is one of the areas with the widest rail network in Sumatra. But why did you die? In fact, once there is a train, for transportation, it can be, for tourism, the price is cheap, it is more efficient, safe, comfortable. So we want to revive it," explained Anies.

Then, Anies admitted that he would repair the national road in West Sumatra. He said this because he heard many complaints from the public about damaged roads.
Meanwhile, according to Anies, road repairs are needed to support people's livelihoods. One of them is the distribution of basic commodities.
"Imagine if you have an egg farm, the road is damaged, the eggs run out on the road. Egg farmers are most afraid of damaged roads. He has taken care of good chickens, the eggs are broken on the road," he said.
Anies also made other promises in West Sumatra, namely revitalizing the Batusangkar Union Market, increasing contract farming, and revitalizing stadiums to FIFA levels.
