TPN Reminds Social Assistance Not To Claim Jokowi's: The Money Is From The People, The Distribution Is Approved By The DPR-Government
JAKARTA - The Deputy for Legal Affairs for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Todung Mulya Lubis, reminded that social assistance (bansos) should not be claimed to come from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Many parties took part so that appreciation should be given to all policy makers.
This was conveyed by Todung in response to the statement by the General Chairperson of PAN Zulkifli Hasan who said that social assistance was a policy and gift from President Jokowi. He regretted the attitude of the Minister of Trade (Mendag) who politicized the program for the people.
"If you want to claim credit (appreciation, ed) should be given to all parties, both the government and the DPR, which incidentally contested the 2024 General Election," Todung told reporters at the High End Building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 3.
Todung also emphasized that TPN Ganjar-Mahfud never wanted to stop providing social assistance. He denied any allegations that arose because of his statement some time ago.
It is known that Todung some time ago had said that the provision of social assistance should be postponed until the 2024 presidential election is stopped. This is because the implementation is prone to politicization.
TPN Ganjar-Mahfud does not advocate for the termination of social assistance. We agree that social assistance will continue because the people really need it," said the legal practitioner.
"What we criticize is that the social assistance is from public money, whose distribution is approved by the DPR with the government," continued Todung.
