Police Arrest Thief Gangs Dozens Of Transmitter Poles In Semarang

SEMARANG - Police arrested a gang of thieves with dozens of internet network transmitter poles belonging to PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta in two areas in Semarang City, Central Java, made of iron.

Semarang Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Wiwit Ari Wibisono said the incident began with reports of disturbances experienced in a number of services belonging to the Central Java Police in Semarang.

"The objection does not interfere with the overall service," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

After being reported to the internet service provider company, he said, it was found that there were transmitter poles in two areas that were suspected of missing due to the theft.

In the first report, there were 23 transmitter poles in the Ngaliyan area and 14 poles in the Papandayan area, Semarang City.

From the investigation, the police arrested four members of the transmitter's pole thief gang.

In addition, according to him, the police also secured a collector of stolen goods who bought the iron pole.

In the action, he said, the perpetrator who acted at night only needed about 20 minutes to pick up the transmitter's post.

"The stolen proceeds are then sold to collectors at a price of Rp. 5,000 per kg," he said.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft and 480 of the Criminal Code concerning collectors of stolen goods.
