Jokowi Reviews Waste Fuel Processing In Cilacap
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reviewed the waste conversion facility into coal fuel for cement factories in Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province, Tuesday, January 2.
The Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta informed that the conversion of waste into coal energy was processed at the Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) Cilacap.
President Jokowi and his entourage arrived at the location of the activity at 09.45 WIB, then reviewed the processing process starting from disbursement to enrichment to coal.
Head of the Cilacap Regency Environment Agency (DLH) Sri Murniyati who accompanied the President said the waste processed at the TPST came from 14 sub-districts in the local area.
"Cilacap consists of 24 sub-districts, the waste processed at the RDF TPST comes from 14 sub-districts around the RDF TPST," he said.
Sri further said that the RDF machine in the TPST has a processing capacity of up to 200 tons of waste. "But at this time it has not been maximized so only 150 tons per day are processed," he said.
He said as much as 60 tons of coal could be produced using RDF machines per day from the total collected waste. The coal products are then used for burning furnace fuel for cement factories.

Sri said the construction of the Cilacap RDF TPST was carried out from 2017 to 2018 with construction costs ranging from Rp. 84 billion.

"The funding sharing from the Ministry of PUPR budget is Rp. 27 billion for building infrastructure, then Rp. 44 billion for funds from the Ministry of Environment, then from the Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) worth Rp. 10 billion, then the Cilacap Regency Government Rp. 3 billion for land acquisition," he said.
Also accompanying President Jokowi in the review were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi, Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana, and Acting Regent of Cilacap Awaluddin Muuri.
