After The Earthquake In Sumedang, The Cisumdawu Toll Tunnel Was Declared Safe, Despite The Train
SUMEDANG - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) has identified the construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road post-Employment tunnel that rocked Sumedang Regency on Sunday, December 31.
"That after the earthquake in Sumedang Regency last night, it did not show any significant structural changes," said Head of the West Java Province Highways and Spatial Planning (DBMPR) Agency, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, in Sumedang Regency, Monday, January 1.
According to Bambang, currently the party from PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT) as the manager of the Cisumdawu Toll Road is investigating the structure of the tunneling against the impact that occurred after the earthquake.
Bambang added that his party had coordinated with the National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) and the Ministry of PUPR to follow up on the possibility that occurred in the tunnel structure.
"Sudah menurunkan tim dan sekarang juga masih ada di lapangan untuk mengidentifikasi secara cepat kemungkinan-mungkinan adanya kerusakan," katanya.

He also ensured that vehicles were still safe to pass, both on toll roads and when entering the tunnel at the Cisumdawu Toll Road.
"I want to make sure whether after the earthquake the Cisumdawu Toll Road will still be opened? It turns out that it is still open," said Bambang as quoted by Antara.
Previously, the Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari revealed that after the earthquake in Sumedang Regency, it had caused a break in the Cisumdawu toll double tunnel.
"The earthquake with a magnitude of M 4.8, the third caused a slight rift in the walls of the Cisumdawu Toll Twin Tunnel. The management carried out an assessment and other actions that were deemed necessary. However, the rift was confirmed while it did not interfere with traffic and conditions were still under control," he said.
