Foreigners With Visa Visits Can Extend Stay Permits Online

JAKARTA - Foreign citizens visiting Indonesia can now apply for an extension of the residence permit online through the evisa.imigration.go.id website. Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim explained that this new service is intended for foreigners who have visit visa holders in Indonesia.

Immigration continues to improve services through digitalization strategies. This new service was created with the aim of facilitating and accelerating the process of extending the residence permit which originally had to come to the immigration office, now it can be done online and no longer required to apply for a passport because it is sent directly to the applicant's email. So starting from the visa application process and extension of the residence permit can be done online, it is enough through the website provided by the Directorate General of Immigration," he explained.

Some types of visas that can be extended online today are visas for tourist visits (C1 index), treatment (C3 index), government affairs (C4 index), short courses (C9 index), and business visits (C11 index).

The following are the types of visas whose stay permit can be extended via evisa:

Extend Tourism Stay Permit (C1A1 index) Extend Medical Treatment Stay Permit (C3A2 index) Extend Government Business Stay Permit (C4A3 index) Extend Short Course Stay Permit (C9A3 index) Extend Exhibitor Stay Permit (C11A4 index)

This new feature has gone through a trial process and will be implemented starting December 31, 2023, marking the turn of the year.
