RI Almost Lost Rp10.34 Billion, This Is The Culprit!

JAKARTA - The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) supervises criminal acts of downstream oil and gas business activities to record saving state money of up to Rp10.34 billion.

Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati said that in this case her party was working with the Indonesian National Police, including the TNI, BIN, police, prosecutors, and other agencies, including the Regional Government.

"During January to December 29, 2023, there were 663 expert statements with a total volume of evidence of 1,751,638 liters in the alleged criminal act of downstream oil and gas business activities with evidence of subsidized diesel fuel, special fuel for assignment, subsidized soil oil, non-subsidized oil and fuel with a potential rescue of approximately 10.34 billion rupiah," explained Erika Retnowati in a statement to the media quoted Monday, January 1.

Erika continued, BPH Migas cooperated with the TNI and BIN in supervising the provision and distribution of subsidized fuel so that it was right on target and right on volume with other law enforcement institutions such as the TNI and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

"In 2023, BPH Migas has also collaborated with BIN in order to strengthen surveillance activities so that energy subsidies can be channeled on target. In addition, intensively socializing function tasks and performance achievements of BPH Migas together with Commission VII DPR RI," continued Erika.

Related to this, a Coordination Meeting for Integrated Activities for Supervision Assistance on Abuse of Certain Types of Fuel (JBT) and Types of Assignment Special Fuel (JBKP) was held, at the BPH Migas Office, Jakarta, last Monday, November 6.

"This coordination meeting is a follow-up to the hearing of the Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati with the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono at TNI Cilangkap Headquarters on October 19, 2023, which is expected to create synergy and facilitate coordination between BPH Migas and the TNI in field assistance during disclosure and law enforcement at downstream oil and natural gas business activities through pipelines," said BPH Migas Secretary Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak in the meeting.
