Avoid Earthquake Hazards, Bandung Basarnas Evacuates Sumedang Hospital Patients
GARUT - To avoid the danger of the impact of the earthquake that rocked Sumedang Regency, West Java, the Bandung National Search And Rescue Agency (Basarnas) evacuated hundreds of patients at the Sumedang Regional General Hospital (RSUD) to a safer place.
"It was reported that last night we evacuated 248 patients at the Sumedang Regency Hospital to the safest point, plus 83 emergency room patients we have also placed them in the emergency tent post provided by the Sumedang Regency Government," said Head of Bandung Basarnas Hery Marantika when contacted by cell phone, Monday.
He said that until Monday morning all the patients who were successfully evacuated outside the Sumedang Hospital building were still in a safe place, such as in tents that had been installed by the local government.
"Until this morning we received a report (outside the hospital), but it will be returned to the room soon," he said.
He said that so far the ranks of the Basarnas or the Bandung Search and Rescue Office are ready to monitor and coordinate in handling areas affected by the earthquake in Sumedang Regency, Sunday (31/12) night.
Until Monday morning, he said, his staff continued to ensure and coordinate with all stakeholders in Sumedang Regency to check areas affected by the earthquake disaster.
"We from the Bandung SAR Office Basarnas continue to ensure and coordinate with stakeholders in Sumedang Regency regarding the impact of the earthquake that occurred last night in Sumedang Regency," he said.
He revealed that the results of field visits showed no casualties due to the earthquake in Sumedang.
"This morning we continue to review and monitor at the scene, hopefully we hope there will be no casualties," he said.
