Dhikr Basmalah In Situbondo Breaks The MURI Record For The Most Number Of Participants
JAKARTA - The Situbondo Regency Government, East Java, held a joint recitation and prayer at the end of 2023 and broke the MURI Record "Dhikr Basmalah Reading with the Most Participants", which was 37,982 people.
Representative of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) Sri Widayati said that the reading of 1 billion dhikr basmalah by the most participants was officially recorded in Indonesia's 11,491 world record museum.
"Initially the committee said there were 35,635 participants, but after being verified it turned out that the number had reached 37,982 people," Sri Widayati told reporters in Situbondo, East Java, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 1.
He appreciated the grand recitation and prayer activities together on the New Year's Eve 2023-2024 and it is hoped that the joint recitation and prayer activities carried out by the Situbondo Regency Government can be an example for others.
"Hopefully this positive activity can be an example for other people to carry out positive activities at the end of the year," said Sri Widayati.
The Muri Record award Charter was given to the initiators and organizers, namely Situbondo Regent Karna Suswandi and Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Caretaker Syafi'iyah Sukorejo KHR Achmad Azaim Ibrahimy.
This grand assessment is the annual agenda of the Situbondo Regency Government since the leadership of the Regent of Karna Suswandi and Deputy Regent Nyai Khoiani, as positive activities at the end of the year.
"Alhamdulillah, 1 billion dhikr basmalah at this grand recitation event can break Muri's record," said Regent Karna Suswandi.
According to the Regent, this activity aims to pray for the people of Situbondo in particular and Indonesia in general in order to be given safety, health and strength and given blessings by Allah SWT.
"This is part of the muhasabah of self and munajat to Allah SWT hopes that what has been done for one year will be blessed," he said.

"Hopefully this country's five-year mechanism can run well, hopefully the implementation of government, development and community development will also be able to run well," said Bung Karna, as the Regent of Situbondo Karna Suswandi is called.
The Regent appealed to the entire community that the New Year's Eve 2023-2024 be celebrated simply, perhaps without having to carry out things that are less useful.
"Let's welcome 2024 with more useful things that are more efficient in the future," he said.
