Throughout 2023, Soetta Airport Customs And Excise Takes 2,358 Violations Worth IDR 849 Billion
TANGERANG - The Customs and Excise Main Service Office of the Customs Type Customs (KPUBC TMP) C Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) noted that 2,358 goods violations were prohibited and their income was limited to Indonesia throughout 2023.
Head of the Soetta Customs Office, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, said that of the 2,358 prosecutions, 141 cases were drug prosecution.
Meanwhile, the rest are taking action against other prohibited goods and restrictions (laltas) with a total value of goods resulting from the prosecution reaching Rp. 849 billion.
When viewed from the commodities, the maltas goods are dominated by 422 excisable goods, 136 cases of illegal drugs, 144 cases of protected animals and plants.
"There has been an increase in the number of cases compared to 2022, this is due to an increase in the volume of traffic flow of goods supported by the increase in monitoring activities of Soekarno-Hatta Customs and joint operation activities between us and other law enforcement officers (APH)," said Sugeng in his statement, Sunday, December 31.
In the joint operation, said Sugeng, his party managed to uncover 141 cases of the NPP international smuggling network which included methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana and other dangerous drugs.
"In terms of monitoring lartas goods, in medicinal commodities and supplements, Soekarno Hatta Customs collaborates with the Food and Drug Handling Agency," he said
"Meanwhile, supervision of protected animals and plants is carried out in collaboration between Soekarno-Hatta Customs and the Agricultural Quarantine Center and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK)," he added.
Sugeng said the actions revealed thanks to cooperation with other APH included seven cases of smuggling and exporting of Lobster Seed Ban (BBL) with a total estimated value of goods reaching Rp22.3 billion.
Not only that, the prosecution for the export efforts of traditional drugs contains four cases of medicinal chemicals (BKO) with a total of 577 cartons containing tens of thousands of drugs weighing a total of 8,160 kg.

Furthermore, the disclosure of illegal exports of pangolin scales, counted five illegal export efforts totaling 53 kg of pangolin scales with an estimated value of IDR 3 billion.
"In an effort to enforce the law in the customs sector, Soekarno Hatta Customs and Excise also routinely coordinates and consults with the Banten High Prosecutor's Office and the Tangerang City District Attorney's Office, recorded during 2023," he concluded.
