Judged For Violating, Ganjar Waits For Bawaslu Sanctions Gus Miftah
Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo is waiting for action from the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) against alleged violations committed by well-known cleric Miftah Maulana Habiburrohman or Gus Miftah.
"It's only Bawaslu, yes, that's your job that we are waiting for or maybe waiting for you to be protested by the community," said Ganjar after attending the National Winning Team (TPN) and Ganjar-Mahfud Volunteers at the Djakarta Theater, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.
The former governor of Central Java for two terms said that Gus Miftah's actions had been seen as a violation.
"When it comes to Gus Miftah, when it comes to violations and so on, everything is already visible," said Ganjar.
Meanwhile, the Bawaslu of Pamekasan Regency, East Java said it was investigating a viral video showing an action to distribute money by Gus Miftah in a cigarette warehouse in the area.
"We have held an internal meeting and coordinated with the District Supervisory Committee (Panwascam) regarding the video of distributing Gus Miftah's money, which is now circulating on social media platforms WhatsApp and TikTok," said Head of Bawaslu Pamekasan Sukma Umbara Tirta Firdaus in a press statement delivered to the media in Pamekasan, East Java, Friday, December 29 evening.
The act of distributing money by the lecturer who is also the leader of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta has gone viral because he is known as a supporter of one of the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election.
In the 1 minute 29 second video that is circulating on social media, Gus Miftah appears to be distributing money to the people of Rp. 100 thousand who queue in a room.
One by one, mostly women go forward and immediately receive money while kissing the speaker's hand.
"Number two, number two", the sound of the video was heard. Then the camera highlighted the crowd of residents on the back who were also queuing and showed someone wearing a black shirt with a presidential candidate number 2.
Participating in accompanying Gus Miftah during the distribution of the money, the owner of the Onion Cigarette Company Mas Khairul Umam alias 'Haji Her'.
According to Sukma, the provisional suspicion regarding the action of distributing Gus Miftah's money in Pamekasan is categorized as election crime. "But this is still an allegation, it needs sufficient evidence," he said.
The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, November 13, 2023, determined three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates to participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).
