DKI Provincial Government Urges Residents To Use Public Transportation To Celebrate New Year 2024
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) urges residents to use public transportation during visits to locations that are the celebration points for the 2024 New Year in Jakarta, including the Sudirman-Thamrin area.
"We urge residents to use public transportation when heading to the location of the event activities. Related to this, we have synergized with public transportation operators in Jakarta such as BUMD in the transportation sector so that the mobility of residents is easier," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.
In addition, Syafrin reminded residents to continue to comply with applicable traffic rules and follow the directions of officers guarding each location for smooth and safety.
Syafrin said that the 2024 New Year's Eve celebration titled "Young Nights, Jakarta, Global City" will be held along Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Jenderal Sudirman on Sunday (31/12) tomorrow
This event will also be enlivened by the Jabarnaval ornamental car parade (Jakarta Karnival).
The "Young Nights of Jakarta, Global City" carries the concept of a free-vehicle night (CFN) along Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, starting at 19.00-01.00 WIB, special exceptions for the Jabarnaval ornamental car parade and traffic control officers.
The Jakarnaval parade will begin at the starting point at 21.30 WIB and is expected to arrive at the end point at 23.00 WIB, with the start route from the Jakarnaval stage at the Southwest Gate of Monas/Patuung Kuda-Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-rotating at the Youth Statue Roundabout Building back and forth north of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman- ending at FX Sudirman via Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub) implemented traffic engineering in the form of road closures at 26 points and alternative routes for traffic flow diversion, starting at 19.00-01.00 WIB.
Syafrin explained that there will be a number of TransJakarta bus service routes that will be affected and only operate until 19.00 WIB. The routes are 1H Tanah Abang-Gondangdia, 1N Tanah Abang-Blok M, 1P Senen-Blok M, 4C TU Gas-Bundaran Senayan, 5M Kampung Melayu-Tanah Abang via Cikini, 3 Kalideres-Monas via Veteran, 3F Kalideres-Gelora Bung Karno, and 6B Ragunan-Balaikota via Semanggi.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Commuter Train operates until January 1, 2024 at 02.00 WIB. Likewise, the Jakarta MRT will also operate until January 1, 2024 at 02.00 WIB, with a 10-minute headway (distance between trains), except at 00.00-01.00 with a headway of five minutes.
"Similarly, the Jakarta LRT will operate until January 1, 2024 at 02.00 WIB with a headwayflat 10 minutes," said Syafrin.
The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta on New Year's Eve held a "Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global" with a series of events ranging from carnivals (Jakarnavals), music stages, video screenings, to the appearance of drones.
The event "Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global" was filled with six interesting segments, namely Gemilang Silang Monas, carnival, main stage of the HI Roundabout, "Kiana Jakarta", the MH Thamrin Street stage and the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman stage.
