Polresta Pangkalpinang Thwarts Circulation Of 4 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine Ahead Of The New Year

Pangkalpinang Police together with the Customs and Excise of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province managed to thwart the circulation of four kilograms of crystal methamphetamine ahead of New Year's Eve 2024.

"Currently, the suspect and the evidence of four kilograms of crystal methamphetamine have been secured to follow up on further legal proceedings," said Pangkalpinang Police Chief Kombes Gatot Yulianto as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.

In preventing the circulation of drugs and liquor at the moment of celebrating New Year's Eve 2024, the Pangkalpinang Police intensified patrols and raids to nightclubs, in order to create a conducive situation that is safe ahead and during the celebration of the new year's turn in the city of Beribu, this smile.

"We have not only succeeded in budgeting the circulation of four kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, but have also succeeded in confiscating 201 bottles of B-class alcohol of various brands," he said.

During 2023, the Pangkalpinang Police managed to handle 61 drug trafficking cases with 68 suspects with evidence including 7,446.56 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 96.81 grams of marijuana and 30.23 grams of inex.

While the number of cases of drug trafficking in 2022 is 75 cases, the suspect is 111 people with evidence of 661.7 grams of methamphetamine, 6.84 grams of inex and 737.7 grams of marijuana.

"This year's drug trafficking cases decreased by 14 cases or -22.95 percent compared to the number of drug cases in 2022," he said.
