Thanks To Phone Mate 60, Huawei Revenue In 2023 Is Predicted To Reach IDR 1.5 Quadrillion

JAKARTA Huawei, a Chinese technology company, estimates that the company's revenue will increase from the previous year. This revenue is predicted to increase by up to 9 percent.

The head of the Huawei, Hu Houkun or Ken Hu circular, from a Reuters report, believes that his company will report a total profit of up to 98.5 billion or around Rp1.5 quadrillion. Last year, Huawei'syear-on-year (yoy) revenue was only 642.3 billion yuan (Rp1.3 quadrillion).

Over the years, Huawei has experienced various obstacles in sales, including US sanctions in 2019 which limited the use of chips from the country. Despite frequent obstacles, Hu said that Huawei managed to get through the storm.

"Thank you to our partners across the value chain who have supported us in the face of joy and sorrow. I would also like to thank every member of the Huawei team who has fought hard," Hu said, quoted by VOIdariReuters.

The chairman of the US Huawei Board of Directors is very confident in the increased revenue due to a surge in demand on Huawei phones. Last August, the Huawei Mate 60 was in the spotlight in various countries for using the Kirin 9000S chipset.

A month after its release, the Kirin 9000S, which is considered sophisticated, attracted the attention of the US government. The sophistication brought by the Huawei chipset with the HarmonyOS operating system (OS) is considered to use technology from the US.

Although the US government has investigated Kirin 9000S, there is no evidence to suggest that Huawei is using US technology. Sales of Huawei Mate 60 are still running smoothly and demand for smartphones jumped to 83 percent last October.

Thanks to such a high demand spike, Huawei's position in the market also increased from the previous year to 11 percent. With this success, Huawei will make the device business one of the company's main businesses.

Our device business needs to double its commitment to developing the best products in its class and building high-end brands with a human touch, Hu explained.
